We pulled up after a long drive and the place was dark. They were open but the electricity was off in the whole town. They happily served us any thing that didn't require electricity. Huge pancakes and the bacon was delish.

Old and rustic. Busy at lunch. Quick friendly service. Salad bar OK. Mushroom Swiss burger and fries very good. Heard one customer say she came back having come as a child on the way into Colorado.

Worst service I have ever experienced! No One acknowledged us upon walking in. The servers will look right at you but won't tell you to 'seat yourself' once we did sit down, we sat there for 15 minutes before someone came over to get our drink orders. We ordered and waited 1 hour to get our food that wasn't anything special. Several other people walked out after placing their orders because they couldn't wait any longer and were so upset with the service. These people know nothing about customer service nor do they give a crap. I'll pass on this restaurant next time and everytime.

Stick with the burger, fries and pie. My husband got the Rocky Mountain "oysters" and said they didn't have much taste. But my burger was great. And the pie was delicious---tasted homemade!

I will never stop here again. If you must stop, have a burger and fries; but do not eat anything else. Tea tastes a week old and the service was bad.

Driving between Kansas and Colorado, we stopped in Kit Carson looking for a place to eat. Trading Post Restaurant was a good choice. Service and Food was good. Small salad bar, homemade pies. I had a BLT which which had excellent bacon. A place where locals go.

Rustic home town restaurant that features local meat and it is good. Wife had a Taco Salad, average. I had a jalapeño burger with cheese, excellent. Really wanted to have a Ultimate burger but just don't have the huge appetite anymore. They do not serve breakfast after 10:00 am.

Stopped by here on the way to Denver. Can't imagine a better place to stop between Amarillo, TX and Denver. The restaurant could be used for an old western movie. It looks like it may have been built in the 1800's with it's wood structure. Quiet and unassuming, it's just a cool place to go. No frills, just quick, hot, good food. I was waiting for John Wane or Kurt Douglas to walk in the door wearing their gun belt and cowboy boots. Got the double cheeseburger with bacon. It was tasty. The tater tots accompanying it were decent. Not the greatest, just good food at a cool place with fast service.

Basic small town restaurant by the highway. No complaints, ate a decent breakfast, pressed on.

Seriously the best burgers I've ever tasted. From now on I'm stopping by here to get a hamburger every time I pass by.

We just accidentally found this restaurant and read the good reviews ! It was the BEST hamburger I have ever had! I will try to come this way again just for this hamburger !

Jalapeño burger and green chili burger were very good. A great stop on our road trip.

I had the double burger and wished I been eating here every chance I got. Generous portion very finely ground meat, fresh hand made patties, and cooked to perfection.
